Huawei Mate 60 Review: An Impressive Flagship Without 5G

Huawei has introduced another capable flagship, the Mate 60, to expand its lineup beyond the high-end Mate 60 Pro. While lacking 5G support, it offers an all-round premium experience.

The 6.69-inch OLED screen is simply gorgeous with its sharp 1268×2688 resolution and silky 120Hz refresh rate. It’s protected by tough Kunlun Glass 2 as well. Powering the phone is the powerful Kirin 9000S chip paired with 12GB RAM.

Camera specs are similar to the Pro model, headlined by a versatile 50MP main sensor. It’s joined by a 12MP periscope and ultrawide shooters. Video recording tops out at 4K60 but lacks 8K. Selfies are handled by a single 13MP front camera.

Battery life is decent thanks to the 4750mAh cell. Although, missing out on 5G should help maximize endurance. Still, 66W wired charging is quick to top up when needed.

At around $800, it provides flagship specs and build quality without the premium of 5G connectivity. For those not needing 5G, it offers great value. HarmonyOS also provides a polished software experience.
