Huawei Pura 70 Review: The Affordable Flagship

Huawei introduced the Pura 70 as the most affordable option in its new Pura 70 series. At €700 it comes in noticeably lower than the “Pro” and “Pro+” models.

Design and Display

The Pura 70 has a glass and aluminum unibody design that feels premium. At 6.6 inches the display is large but the phone stays compact thanks to narrow bezels. Picture quality is top-notch with a 120Hz OLED panel and a peak of 2500 nits brightness.

Hardware, Performance, and Battery

Powering the phone is Huawei’s flagship Kirin 9010 chip alongside 12GB RAM. Storage is generous at up to 1TB. Performance should rival other flagship chips. The 4900mAh battery supports 66W wired and 50W wireless charging for quick top-ups.

Camera

The triple rear camera system is impressive. It includes a versatile 50MP main, 12MP periscope telephoto with 5x zoom and 13MP ultrawide. Video is a strong point with 4K/60 recording and advanced EIS. Selfies are handled by a 13MP shooter.

Features and Software

The Pura 70 runs HarmonyOS and supports all of Huawei’s latest BDS satellite connectivity features. Other highlights include 5G, an under-display fingerprint sensor, and WiFi 6 connectivity.
